Rob Brown practices primarily in the area of workers’ compensation, representing large employers, self-insured employers, small businesses, insurance companies, and third party administrators. Thus, he has gained valuable experience in handling claims for a wide range of clients who often have different interests and requirements to consider when defending themselves against workers’ compensation claims.
Much of Rob’s practice also focuses on the Medicare Secondary Payer Act, Medicare set-aside arrangements, as well as settlement planning for parties in workers’ compensation claims and personal injury liability lawsuits. Rob is a nationally recognized expert on Medicare Secondary Payer issues, and he has served multiple terms on the board of the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals, which is the only nationwide non-profit organization that is specifically dedicated to addressing issues with the Medicare Secondary Payer Act and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences in the State of Georgia as well as at national conferences on various aspects of the Medicare set-aside arrangements and the Medicare Secondary Payer Act.
Additionally, Rob has served in the Georgia Army National Guard since 1998, first in field artillery and then in the Judge Advocate General Corps. His service has included leading a security patrol in Savannah during the 2004 G8 Summit, commanding a company of soldiers deployed to the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina, and serving as the Chief of Claims for the entire theater of operations in Afghanistan during 2009 and 2010. Rob donates much of his spare time to providing legal assistance to soldiers and veterans along with their spouses.
Rob is a member of the Cobb County Bar Association, the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals, the National Guard Association of Georgia, and Redeemer Lutheran Church. Rob and his wife live in Marietta with their son and two daughters. He enjoys hiking, camping, golf, as well as spending time with his family and friends.
